During the month of September and October Vista High has been able to provide students with real-world opportunities to learn about post-high school apprenticeships and banking.
In September several Vista students visited the San Joaquin County Construction Trades Fair in Stockton where students were informed about numerous different apprenticeship programs available for students after they graduate, including electrical programs, plumbers programs, roofers, drywall, masonry and many other career pathways. Our students enjoyed learning about the opportunities available to them.
In October a representative from Golden One Bank visited with our students and gave them an interactive presentation about managing a budget, balancing real-life expenses in terms of wants and needs, and avoiding traps with credit cards. We look forward to continuing to bring opportunities to our students in the months ahead with the hopes that they will be able to find a positive path forward toward graduation from Vista and success beyond.
